The Water Equipment Show 2026 is just one month away! With the biggest edition of the UK’s leading event for the water industry fast approaching, let’s take an in-depth look at WES2026’s theme and what you can expect from this year’s packed agenda.
The Water Equipment Show 2026 will feature five areas spread across three halls at the Telford International Centre, each one addressing an important subject for industry professionals in the search for innovative solutions to the sector’s most pressing concerns.
The Technical Conference in the main exhibition space will cover this year’s theme, which speaks to the Water Equipment Show’s commitment to push for progress via collaboration throughout the water and wastewater sectors.
With AMP8 and SR27 set to be critical periods, it is essential that companies and suppliers across the water industry use the opportunities created to work together, discovering new methods and technologies that will drive the sector forward. One key area that can help accomplish this is partnership and standardisation; by unifying our approach to water and wastewater management, we can locate and eliminate inefficiencies from our systems and build more effective, resilient processes across the UK’s waterworks.
In this breakout session, learn more about how the water industry can meet its sustainability goals through the successful implementation of nature-based solutions. The current asset management and strategic review periods have emphasised the importance of achieving net zero throughout the water sector for the good not only of the UK’s water supply, but for the environment as a whole.
In order to meet the goals of AMP8 and SR27, nature-based solutions present new possibilities to reduce the environmental impact of water management while increasing their ecological benefits and creating a sustainable, environmentally-friendly system UK-wide.
As Pump Centre members, the UK’s major water companies work together to define the requirements for a wide range of mechanical electrical equipment used in the UK water industry. Thanks to their collaboration, Pump Centre members can ensure full compatibility is incorporated into the manufacture and design of key components in water pumping systems.
Room C’s session will provide an overview of how asset standardisation can streamline key processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency throughout the water sector.
The water sector is continually moving forward. With new technologies and innovations being created every day, it can be difficult to keep up to date with the best industry practices.
This breakout session will offer an insight into the latest technologies available to engineering professionals, and how they can be best implemented to innovate and streamline water and wastewater management processes.
As the water industry changes and adapts to new technology, new legislation, and new regulation, our operations and equipment must keep pace. Room E will cover a range of challenges the sector faces, from asset maintenance and refurbishment to promote sustainability in the UK industry, technical innovations to futureproof water systems, and methods to ensure regulatory compliance within operations nationwide.
Oliver Grievson discusses how we can use instrumentation as data sources to garner insight and enable the water industry to operate more efficiently. The presentation will look at some case studies from China and around the world, including examples of how Digital Twins have been adopted.
Arlene Goode, Yorkshire Water’s Manager of Engineering Design, introduces WES2026’s main theme, and will share some of her thoughts on what delivering a sustainable future means for the water industry.
Alexandra Combes provides an in-depth look at Nature-based Solutions (NbS) through the lens of ecological engineering, focusing on their application within the water industry. This presentation was developed in collaboration with the British Ecological Society.
The Water Equipment Show welcomes professionals from across the sector, bringing together everyone from water companies and government regulators to equipment manufacturers and suppliers. Rarely do so many individuals from such a wide array of fields meet in one place, but WES2026 facilitates a collaborative environment where everyone can communicate and work together on solutions to pressing problems.
